Ever talk to someone via text and they get the completely wrong message? For example, let’s say you are in the middle of a conversation with someone and you say "Yeah whatever." This sentence isn't necessarily a sarcastic comment, it just seems like it, and people can take it the wrong way. With a sentence like this, putting a " :) " on the end of it really changes what you are saying.
I try to use emoticons as much as possible, so people don’t get the wrong idea about what I'm saying to them. No one wants unnecessary drama. Well, not very many people want unnecessary drama. Its just difficult to understand what people are trying to say sometimes when you can't see their face.
Some of my personal favourites are:
xD - laughing/sarcasm
D: - extremely sad
o.o - surprised
O.o - confused
(> ")> - Kirby!
Can't you just picture a world without emoticons? Imagine if some presidents or prime ministers were texting and jokingly says, "Hey man Im'a flick some nukes at you." This could be taken seriously if there was no "xD" at the end. Then all sorts of problems happen!
So with good reasons, emoticons are my first awesome thing.
Hope you guys enjoyed it. =DD
